From an early age, Mia has performed on stage as a musician and thespian, recorded for numerous jingles, cartoons and documentaries as a singer and voice actor, and composed music for a myriad of projects, from indie films to musicals. Mia continues to enjoy working and exploring the many facets of her musical self, and would love to play a part in your next project.

A Musical Journey
Mia Palencia launched her luminous career in the Malaysian music scene at the age of 14 as the other half of well-loved Sabahan jazz duo Double Take. 19 years, 6 albums, and numerous concerts and tours later, Mia continues to live her dream of making music the centrepiece of her life’s work.
Mia’s current work focues on her passion for songwriting and working with aspiring songwriters. She continues to manifest this passion through her PhD research in Songwriting at the Conservatorium of Music, University of Tasmania. In 2022, Mia released her 7th studio album with her Tasmanian contemporary jazz quartet, In Good Company.
